2nd home, friendships and family

But after calling Trojans my second home for as long as I can remember I’ve found it brings much more. Training has become one of the most valuable assets in my life. I’ve gained very good friendships and a family in my training partners and coaches, a confident sense of self and accountability. Read more

9kgs lost!

I started using Trojan as an alternative to using the gym after my gym closed down, ive always been interested in combat sports and martial arts, I also felt like it would be a good way to stay in shape and also learn new things.

I was a bit apprehensive and anxious about first coming to trojan, I just felt like id be a new kid at a new school & not really knowing anything, I was also pretty worried about my overall fitness  as other than the gym I hadn’t don’t anything like this in quiet a while.

My first session was excellent, we did some basic striking and a few basic take downs, Dan was superb in showing me what to do as a beginner as well as splitting his time between the more advanced students, I was hooked from the off and began doing weekly MMA classes Read more

Sparring for Nick

Just a reminder that this Saturday at 2.30pm (August 12th) Muay Thai coach Rich Newman will be ‘Sparring for Nick’

100 x 1 min rounds of Thai boxing with no break. If you want to Spar you will need 14/16oz gloves, shin guards with instep & gumshield.

Its a light hearted fund raising event for a great cause. NO heavy contact! A few people asked how to donate well it’s real simple just click on the link below. You can only spar or watch if you donate. Whatever the amount you donate is up to you but 100% goes to help Nick get home!

Nick had a quad bike accident on the 22nd March 2015 resulting in a severe head injury . He has not been able to move much since and has not spoke although his mum Janie will hold his wrist and he can write.
Two years in hospital and now in a care home , Nick needs and wants to be home now .
His mum Janie is in a council housing property and the OT has said it can not be adapted or extended so she is on the bidding list and has top priority (gold plus) but even that does not guarantee a house suitable , although no houses have been allocated to her and family . She is on the exchange system and has plenty of interest but still no move as an OT visits prospective houses with Janie to see if it will be suitable for Nick . Up to now she has fought for her son alone but now she has a team of family and friends behind her and we are pushing for that house move , raising money to cover the house moving costs and any adaptions that Nick will need. Please help us out and donate , all money goes to Janie and Nick #helpnickgethome
